It's Peach Season!!

It's peach season in our neck of the woods!  Orchard after orchard is

brimming with trees loaded with nice juicy peach fruit.  There are so many

varieties that come in all during the season--

The all time favorite is the peach cobbler--any way you can prepare it

with crust, just peaches with topping--oh wow!  outstanding.

My favorite was to slice peaches in a pie dish (without crust), sprinkle

with some cinnamon, little ginger, or other seasoning, then

sprinkle one of those Jiffy cake mixes on top, and pour a stick of

melted butter over the top--lordy, lordy--some good!

Now, that we are on the low carb food plan, we can not consume many peaches--

But, in this Keto friendly recipe we can have at least a small slice:

Okay, I'm off to pick more peaches!

My Music Passion!

For years my music passion was George Strait!  Oh, yes, I still love that man's music---
recently, I've achieved a new music passion--HAUSER!  If you haven't tuned into his music--take a listen.

Can't See The Trees For The Forest.....................

For months now, I've been working on Charismas Corner

American Country--the pattern is eye catching but guess what?

most of the blocks are paper pieced!

Each month I would receive a block with TREES! all needed

paper piecing--I tried to figure out a way to do measurements and

cut out each block--but that was taking more time than just getting

print outs and piece!  I'd think--there can't be anymore trees--then the next 

month, another block of trees!

Don't get me wrong!  I love this pattern! or I wouldn't have bought it--

Every time I sit down to hook those trees up to each other, I

find there is another tree that I didn't construct!! like this one...

I did get the cabins made--just to do something besides trees!

and I made the flag--

Soon, very soon--I'll finish ALL those dang trees and

put it all together!

Tour De Fleece For Spinners

Although Tour De France has been postponed--beginning August 29th and

ending September 20th,

Tour De Fleece is still beginning on their regular date of June 27

so gather all that fiber and scour any wool, card all those loose

fibers, oil those wheels and empty those bobbins--you'll be ready for

some spinning time.

Two facebook groups are participating--join as you will--

Spinfoolish Tour De Fleece and/or Tour de Fleece 2020.

Post your beginning fiber and give some information of what you'd like to

learn, share, etc.

It's possible we might be spinning as Tour De France is pedaling--quite

frankly, I like to pedal my wheel as they pedal their bikes.

Look At ME!

Look at me!  I'm doing a long arm quilting class!

Our local quilt shop offers these classes periodically--my friend

and I signed up--hoping it will be something we'd like to do

for our stack of unquilted tops! 

Yes!  I can do this!

Once you've taken this class you an rent the machines by the hour

to do your own top--

Handi Quilter is the machine and there are three different styles in

the work room.  This is the one I worked with.  It all sounds so

complicated to see this machine and think I can do this!

Make sure it's threaded right!  First Step!

Now to load this with your practice work!

Gourd Art

Gourd art involves creating works of art using Lagenaria spp. hard-shell gourds as an art medium. Gourd surfaces may be carved, painted, sanded, burned, dyed, and polished. Typically, a harvested gourd is left to dry over a period of months before the woody surface is suitable for decorating. 

Every year we are fortunate to view one of the best Gourd Art Exhibits at Kerr Arts and Cultural Center in Kerrville, Texas.  If you can not visit in person, you can take a virtual to virtual here.
