Two B’s In Action!

Is playing in my ear as I assort my Baking items—can’t help but bake when the book’s character is baking delicious recipes!  How About Madeleines?  Never have I made this recipe
These pans are so pretty--I'm sure they will make lovely madeleines!   The grandkids are coming to visit this week; this will be a good treat for them.

First in Bakeshop mysteries series.  A woman returns to her hometown to help mom at the family bakery.  And of course, becomes involved in a murder! and then--the handsome investigator shows up--her high school sweetheart!  Oh My!  it is a cozy read with a bit of romance thrown in.

Here we are 1835 London.  Eliza wants to be a writer of poetry.  Unfortunely. the publisher doesn't need more poems--he wants cookbook.  Her assistant Ann form a bond to create a cookbook, even though Eliza doesn't cook!  This is based on true story of first modern cookery writer.  Interesting recipes--none I would prepare!  good read though and peek into historic English kitchen with interesting recipes.

This book is telling me--"bake scones"
Setting--small town North Carolina.  Cast--a group of town 'misfits'.  Plot--join this society, you must tell your deepest darkest secret!  There is a bookshop involved along with a murder!
Listening treat as you eat scones.  I made the blueberry/lemon scones--

now, I've got to visit grocery store for Clotted Cream!  Here's a recipe if you are so inclined!
Me, I'm adding jar of clotted cream to my next shopping adventure!
